What Do You Worship?
And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. Exodus 20:1-6

Each of us worship something. But not every "something" should be worshiped.
Have you ever gone to a pro sporting event? If you have, you've probably noticed many of the fans decked out from head to toe in their team colors with their faces painted and wearing fun clothing! They yell and scream, boo and cheer, and so much more! We are so passionate about our team!
Or, how about a concert? Guys and girls crying and screaming with arms stretched out reaching for that celebrity. Some of them even faint and pass out. Seriously! Tears are running down their faces because they are in the presence of someone famous.
Why do we get so overly passionate with those things? Here’s why: as humans, we are worshipers! Each of us worship something. It's built deep within us. It's who we are and what we do! It’s how God created us! God created us to be worshipers!
Here's two questions for us to think about...What is on your mind throughout the day? What are you thinking about most of the time? If you can answer those questions, you'll find the answer to this question!
